Catawba Falls

My boyfriend is the best, i love that him and i can hang out like best friends and still love to be in one another’s arms. It’s really a funny story because when we were growing up from elementary to middle school he was my brothers best friend, but we secretly harbored crushes on one another.

He pushes me to do things i would normally turn on my heel and run away as fast as my short legs would take me. I thank him for that (usually after all the cuss words are said and i am done complaining), no one has really pushed me before. I have been so unmotivated to do anything like hiking or something as simple as to going into public places alone for a period of time (social anxiety and all).

There are so many beautiful places in the mountains. It is a shame many people will not witness the gorgeous sceneries because of fear they may not be able to hike or climb or due to location.

The hike to the lower falls is about 3 miles round trip but we didn’t stop there, we then took on the hike (which involved 3 points of contact going up and coming down), shimmied up 15ft of rock wall by ropes, and into a lush forest of greenery. Only one person could go at a time, so i went first to set the pace as i had never done this before. We passed the stone foundation and the dam that was used as a power generator in early 1900s.

The Foothills Conservancy has saved 1,000+ acres in this area from development. Which is amazing due to all of the construction around these areas.

Here are a few of my favorite photos from the trip. It was so hard to pick just these, hah i had so many!
